Finale

First of all… the finale started LATE?!?!?! What was CBS thinking? I hope no one got hurt with the recording of it.

Didn’t Kenny look like the Cobra Kai guys from the Karate Kid movie? BOB! HOLY COW! What an IMMUNITY MACHINE! Can you say goodbye Kenny.

How can Kenny feel safe after what happened to Crystal? He must not be that smart. Why wouldn’t they vote him off? I’m baffled.

Way to go BOB! Way to make Kenny look stupid. Way to expose the weasel. NICE! I really grew to dislike Kenny.

You have to like the memory walk… best quote: Randy – “It’s OK to like people.” Ya think.

Sugar, come on… you ain’t building a house of cards like that. Bob should easily win this. I would so dominate this challenge. How about just staking them all flat? Shouldn’t someone just stop building when they get to 7 or 8 feet? I can not believe how utterly bad Bob was at that. Susie… way to go! Bob is gone I bet.

Man… people just want to keep Bob. Unreal. Matty has to be really confused right now. Sugar just killed herself.

To this day I don’t understand why people are still so angry once they are on the jury…did they really think they were going to be the only one to win?

Jury Questions:
Charlie: What the heck was that question to Bob.
Crystal: An angry woman… Way to be honest Sugar.
Kenny: Still playing the whiner… my guess, his dating life might be easier, if he stops playing video games.
Corinne: Holy cow… that a Man Named Sueish. Way to insult her dead father.
Marcus: Again, how can you ridicule people for their ethics in a game that necessitates being a liar.
Randy: I thought he thought it was OK to like people.
Matty: I wonder what his question got him?

My prediction before the vote… I’m truly baffled, I would like to see Bob win, but I can see Sugar winning too… may be even Susie. She didn’t make a good enough case that riding coat tails is a strategy.

Episode #10 & #11

So I have been a little behind on watching Survivors now that I had a regular monthly meeting moved to Thursday nights once a month and then Thanksgiving, etc… again, another reason for other people to be able to post next season. Cathy and I went through a marathon session of Survivor tonight.

Episode #10 (Sunday, 4 PM)

Pretty much an uneventful episode… I thought the reward challenge was pretty benign. Way to go Bob, tearing up the challenges.

Bob had a pretty cool power play with another fake immunity idol. It almost worked too! I think Kenny might have made a fatal error, he is getting a little cocky I think.

Episode #11 (Sunday, 8 PM)
Bob is a MACHINE! A pretty cool reward this episode. It just has to be demoralizing to not win those if you are Matty or someone else. I think that might drive me nuts.

Nice outfits for the gorilla park. The gorillas were cool, but Bob lost me there on the evolutionary talk.

Bob is turning into a juggernaut! Safe at tribal council again, it should be interesting to see if he honors his promise to the weasel (Kenny).

I just love how people break down mentally in the end. Sugar is just melting down with remorse.

THAT WAS A GREAT TRIBAL COUNCIL! Holy Cow! Crystal was ready to rip someone’s arms off and beat them to death with them!

Episode #9

So where in the world do you begin with that episode.

I think that was a top 3, if not, the number 1 episode in Survivor history. Not since a man named Sue unloaded on Richard in the first Survivor have I laughed so hard at the fall of someone else. Unfortunately it was my man, Randy. I guess if you can't win its best to go down in a blaze of glory.

I do have to say that Sugar acted like a not real nice person. She is getting pretty arrogant and her fall will be hard also. I think that was the most vocal tribal council ever. Randy just wanted to pick up his torch and burn everybody to death. He is an angry, angry man...

That is all for tonight. Congrats to Bob for actually making the fake idol work. That is the most action any idol has gotten in the past two or three years.

Episode #8

Well, I'm back reacting to the episodes.

Does this season seem like a few more twists and turns than normal. They have really switched things up which in a way I like. It keeps the sides from developing too strongly and then it becoming a numbers game. So instead of random thoughts, here my thoughts on each player.

Crystal - She hasn't been as physically imposing as I thought she would be. Recently she has quieted down which helps her.
Suzie - No chance. Did she just win immunity tonight?
Randy - He had a chance when he kept his mouth shut but he just can't do it. He did have a couple good challenges though.
Ken - Is he gaining confidence? May be coming out of his apartement and not playing video games 24/7 would help. He won't be able to sustain the good luck.
Sugar - I didn't think she would backstab Ace, but I liked it. She has proven to be a little tougher although not smarter.
Bob - Mr. Physics. He just hangs in there. The merge really helped him and what a nice fake immunity idol. Eliza would have liked that one.
Corrine - She has it out for Suzie. Too emotional probably.
Matty - The strongest remaining player (besides Crystal). He will probably get picked off because of physical strength. He is kind of annoying too.
Charlie - He's hard to stomach. Now that Marcus is gone he's done. BTW, I wrote this before the end of the show!

Amazing how everyone is a like a praying mantis ready to eat their mate...

Episode #2

Well, I'm a day late, but I was busy going to pick up my Brewer playoff tickets which I am unable to use... DOH!

So here are some one day old random thoughts.
  1. Randy is doing pretty good keeping his mouth shut even though he thinks his tribe are a bunch of idiots... stay away from GC my man.
  2. GC = Gervis = _______ (The man whose same I will never mention... read the archives if you want to know).
  3. THANK GOODNESS THEY LET THEM WEAR THEIR SWIMSUITS!!! No more blurring.
  4. Crystal...eeek...I'd hate to run into her in a back alley. YIKES! She carried them in that reward challenge.
  5. Ace is a DORK. He bugs me. Too bad Paloma got run out... I wonder when his tribe mates will pick up on that.
  6. How in the world did SUGAR find the immunity idol and not Dan... wow. I thought for sure she was going to take the luxury.
  7. PREDICTION: She will tell Ace and then give it to him to save his hide.
  8. Nice slip and slide.
  9. The gamer beats the high school physics teacher. Amazing that Bob didn't take more heat for not being able to solve the puzzle.
  10. Well... it looks like next week they will switch the teams up which could make things really interesting.

Episode #1

Episode #1: “Want to See the Elephant Dung?”

First of all, I was a little intrigued over the title of the episode. We will see what that foretells. I know I always start strong with the posts and fade later. I’m going to try hard again this year. So here are my random thoughts for the night.

  1. Go Randy!Who wears a suit or a dress or a bow tie or a strapless dress to the opening day of Survivor… haven’t you ever watched the show before?
  2. Hi, I’m Rob, and I’m a recovering…
  3. Crystal could whoop up on all the guys.
  4. What are the odds that Charlie is hitting for the other team? Hmmm.
  5. That picking was a little weird.
  6. Dang, my guy is slow… and old…
  7. Quote of the episode, “We are screwed in the physical challenges.”
  8. Quote of the episode, “Are they saying thong?” – Cathy.
  9. Sugar is a real blonde.
  10. Bob’s ripped. He will be voted off early.
  11. Gabon is Lion King land.
  12. Is Gillian from a James Bond movie? Didn’t she play M?
  13. I guess Gillian likes Elephant dung? WHO IN THE WORLD EATS ELEPHANT DUNG?
  14. It is day 1 and Michelle is hangin’ out and being blurred out! She is wearing a nice outfit.
  15. Come on Ken… Remember Rule #4.
  16. Ace, “I’m the full package.” - No, I’m the full package.
  17. Why do you just wear your undies?
  18. Again, Charlie is not rollin’ the same as Marcus.
  19. My dude is a dork. OH! It’s just a scratch. MEDICAL on day 1! I think I should make a rule of a dollar for the first person hurt.
  20. GREAT BANDAGE!
  21. Bob can take the buff bow tie off now.
  22. I guess if I go on Survivor… I’m going to have to buy new underwear. Tidy Whities are not an option.
  23. Where do I sign up to be a professional video game player?
  24. So Michelle broke Rule #1 right out of the bat at tribal council.
  25. Fang is in TOTAL CHAOS!
  26. Randy… way to shut your mouth!
  27. Uh oh, GC is going to get hammered now.
  28. NEW RULE: Don’t become the leader early on. (GC Rule)
  29. Michelle definitely benefits from the make up of the civilized world.
  30. Well, at least they won’t have to blur out Michelle’s stuff anymore.
  31. Congrats Carrie C. for winning the LOSER prize.
  32. PLEASE, buy some flint before you leave so you can practice.
  33. Charlie, Charlie, Charlie… what do I say.
  34. Randy is right… “Operation Crash and Burn”
  35. Crystal scared me with that black on. I am going to have nightmares.
  36. Can GC just quit as leader?
  37. How tall is Crystal? She is bigger than everyone else.
  38. There has to be a no underwear rule for the next Survivor.
  39. Randy kind of looked like The Ultimate Warrior from WWF days there.
  40. Bob looks like a shepherd from Jerusalem with the skirt on his head.
  41. Nice fishing Fang… that was finally something well done.
  42. Well… Gillian got one tribal council farther than I thought

Thanks everyone! Should be a good season. Sorriy Suzy, no $$ for second voted off.

Episode #7 - Finale

Well.... admittedly Rob was a big loser when it came to posting reactions this season... the spring Survivor time frame isn't real good for me. It doesn't help that I keep getting these Calls that take up my time. ANYWAY... I'm sure your all sobbing for me at the moment. Let me try and recap some of my thoughts from the past episodes, they may not be in order, so hopefully you can follow me.

THOUGHTS!
  1. Rule # Whatever... DON'T GIVE UP THE IMMUNITY NECKLACE IDIOT! Enough said.
  2. Rule # Whatever... PLAY THE STUPID IMMUNITY IDOL IDIOTS!!! Enough said.
  3. I am still amazed to this day how personally people take getting voted off (Ozzy, Erik, etc... you are all stupid).
  4. Jeff should cut his hair for the finale.
  5. Unbelievable how many people got hurt.
  6. I hate Natalie... always did and always will. And by the way... what the HECK was her finale speach all about.
  7. I do like Cirie, I feel bad for her.
  8. Erik, Erik, Erik... I feel bad for the scooper, ice cream that is.
  9. How did Parvati win? I mean, don't get me wrong... I'm happy she won, but I don't get
  10. Well guys... my battery is running out! Please check the finances section in case I missed something and if you haven't paid me, PAY!!!!!! I will all let you know about the pool when the next one starts!

Keep on Survivin'

Episode #4, #5, & #6

Well... I really have no good excuse for not keeping up with my posting except that A) I have been really busy and B) I got a nice eye infection (I don't know why that didn't allow me, but hey, it is an excuse).

Anyway... Cathy and I watched three episodes in a row last night. I gotta say it was tough to keep track of whether the challenge was an immunity or reward. But I got them all watched and will try to keep up next Wednesday! Remember it isn't Thursday next week because of the NCAA Tournament.

So here are some thoughts:
Episode #4 -
  1. The fans were really, really disorganized and in utter turmoil.
  2. Ozzy is an all star... his strategy in the reward challenge was brilliant. No need for bad swimmers and girls to have to do all that work.
  3. James was really excited about solving the puzzle... "If I can get the freakin' puzzle!"
  4. Ozzy is just the man finding the immunity idol... Could he of fashioned a better fake?
  5. The fans turmoil showed itself in the immunity challenge.
  6. I think Joel was correct in voting out Mikey B. It wasn't going to work with both of them. Tracy is turning out to be a kniving little player.

Episode #5

  1. I liked the mixing up of tribes early, I thought it would stop the original teams, but it didn't.
  2. That was the most brutal challenge I think I've seen in a while. How about Joel dragging Chet along... Jonathon really hurt himself too. That was a nasty cut.
  3. I wonder if the Airai tribe got to eat those steaks after the tide washed out their fire!
  4. Man, were there some people who couldn't throw stones in the immunity challenge. I think Jonathon was right in complaining, they had some bad luck with how those tiles fell. Luckily the other tribe couldn't put together a puzzle.
  5. I liked how Ozzy blindsided Joel, he was just too brazen in the way he played.

Episode #6

  1. The reward challenge was interesting, I wonder what kind of blockades they could have come up with some time to plan.
  2. I felt really bad for Jonathon (not his owners)... he was on his way to the end. His leg didn't look good though. Kathy did, though, bug me with her crying after only 3 days.
  3. Those two natives were pretty cool. Did Parvati ask Joe if he was married?
  4. I sure hope Jason plays that fake immunity idol.
  5. James is amazing, I don't think he even needed those other girls to carry the pole.
  6. Tracy and Ami had their chance with Chet to get out Ozzy, he better watch out... Chet is a whimp.

Well... may be after next week I'll have my top 5 list. If you haven't paid, do so soon please.

Episode #3

Here are some thoughts from Episode #3:

  1. There is some real discontent on the Fans team.
  2. So who else wanted to see James v. Joel!
  3. There were some pretty sweet war paint out there. Alexis took some nice hits in that reward challenge. I wonder how long that really took.
  4. Those two chicks, Parvati and Amanda, are using those two guys. I wonder how this is all going to turn out.
  5. Kathy is from Wisconsin? First we get a man named Sue in the first one and now her!
  6. Why is Parvati on the holder side of that immunity challenge? That seemed really dumb.
  7. I think that Cirie being the center of attention is going to come back and bite her…

Episode #2

Well fans, I'm watching a little late tonight as I took a field trip with Liam and Owen to the fish store to get some fish for my tank at school. Thanks Sue for that dirty sespool you left, but now it is nice and pretty.

Now, for some random thoughts:
  1. I still can't believe that Jonny Fairplay is gone. I want to know if he really meant to get voted off.
  2. Boy, the fans are really, really, disorganized.
  3. Kathy broke a rule... NO CRYING!
  4. The favorites are at Club Med I think.
  5. Are those clams that they are poppin' open are endangered?
  6. The flirting really has to stop.
  7. I like Jonathan. I think he is a good player.
  8. I played a little Steve Matthew's "Jungle Love" after the Ozzy and Amanda show. Wuf, you wouldn't want to stay overnight at their house.
  9. I sure like the crystal blue water of the South Pacific over the muddy river water of China.
  10. There was still a lot of blurring on that challenge.
  11. Erik looks like the dude from the "Blue Lagoon", where is Brooke Shields? OR is he the lost Bee Gee?
  12. I really want to know if I could make it over those lily pads?
  13. Good bye Chet!
  14. Aren't there dangerous things lurking in the ocean as they trudge from island to island to island to island.
  15. Mikey B.'s scenario was like the you know that I know that you know that I know that you know that I know... kinda like the Princess Bride.
  16. Mikey B. is breaking rule #1... too much of a loud mouth.
  17. I think I heard one of the dumbest comments ever, "It'll be interesting to check out tribal council tonight"... duh, have you ever watched the game.
  18. I thought it was a little early for Joel to make a "power play"... let Mikey ride it out and then backdoor him.

Oh well... not a bad episode, should be a good one.

Rules of Survivor

So I have gone back and researched my previous posts to come up with what we shall now know as the 5 (really 7) commandments or rules of playing Survivor. When I get on the show I will use these to win.

Rule #1 - Keep your mouth shut. Let the loudmouth talk themselves out of the game.
Rule #2 - Don't drink ALCOHOL (especially in finitum).
Rule #2b - Don't cry, especially if you are a guy.
Rule #3 - No Racial Comments.
Rule #4 - No ROMANCE!
Rule #5 - Do not give your alliance a nickname.
Rule #5b - Especially don't give your alliance the nickname "The Four Horseman".

You break those and you lose.

Episode #1

Here we go Survivor fans... I'm PUMPED! I hope you watched, because its gonna be a good one. Time for some random thoughts now...

  1. I gotta say I kinda like the Fans v. Faves.
  2. Thanks goodness they gave them swimming suits this year!
  3. So I get Gervis being a YMCA basketball coach, or __________ being a cheerleading coach, but how do you become an Ice Cream Scooper (Erik)?
  4. Joel is a big dude.
  5. Nice swimsuit Parvati!!!
  6. Did they play Chariots of Fire as Yau-Man came out?
  7. Lets all run across a pool of water in a lightning storm!
  8. Nice tackly Yau-Man, way to smash Johnny Fairplay's head into the side of the boat.
  9. Why do you start talking about another guy being gay... or about someone's implants... she is on her way out!
  10. What kind of hat is that Jonathan.
  11. I do have to agree with James, they have a better work ethic.
  12. James and Parvati, sittin' a tree, ....
  13. Is James bigger than last season?
  14. Holy cow... Kathy was cryin' on day 1... what is she gonna do when she hasn't had food for a couple days.
  15. Remember Survivor Rule #1 - Romance is Baaad.
  16. Did Yau-Man start a fire from his glasses? When I go on Survivor I'm wearing glasses no matter what.
  17. I want to see Joel go mono y mono with James.
  18. Joel kinda looks like Lou Ferrigno.
  19. Eliza just DURFFED it on that cart!
  20. I gotta say, I don't like the Fans as much.
  21. Johnny Fairplay is gonna get burned... He needed to lay low for a bit. AND he cost me $34.
  22. That acting job was baaaad.
  23. If it's your second time playing Survivor, why do you wear a dress?
  24. Wow, was that for real? Did he really mean to get voted off? I'm confused.
  25. That was anti-climactic at the end. Congrats to Ann Maria W. for her $34 win.

Season Premiere Tonight!

Well Fans, the season premiere is tonight and for the record names were chosen at lunch today. I have them up as of now! Enjoy, I hope you lose and I win or that I lose and take home the $34 that goes to the first person voted off tonight!

Saturday, February 2, 2008

Clarification

I think that there are a couple things that need clarification.

#1 - Cheating: I don't know why people (John and Roger) think that I cheat when I pick the names. If I did, wouldn't you two be voted off first and second and I win every time. Hmmmm... Let's see, John won, Roger won, Julia won... I'm taking pictures next time.

#2 - Gambling: For the record, this is not gambling per se. You could call it a pyramid scheme, or may be an alternative investment. Anyway.

Lookin' forward to next Thursday!

One Week To Go!

Well, I thought I better get a post in before Episode #1... I looked over the contestants tonight and I think that the Fans are going to have a tough time. Hopefully James and Yau-Man team up for an invincible team.

Looks like a good season, feel free to comment!
