Payouts

I just wanted to let everyone know that I paid out today. I mailed out checks (except mine and Cathy's - WhooHooo) this afternoon. Again, this is according the KSPPMF (Krause Survivor Pool Payout Matrix Formula).

1. Rob D. - $72.69
2. Cathy D. & Stephen W. - $20.77
3. Amy M. & Tonya W. - $10.38
Last - Ann Maria Wagner - $25

For the record Amy M. becomes the first two time payout winner I believe in Survivor history... well, may be we had one earlier, but I can't remember that far back.

Also, Survivor 17 (hard to believe) in Gabon will start this fall... stay tuned for another Rob's Survivor Pool and invite your friends.

Episode #7 - Finale

Well.... admittedly Rob was a big loser when it came to posting reactions this season... the spring Survivor time frame isn't real good for me. It doesn't help that I keep getting these Calls that take up my time. ANYWAY... I'm sure your all sobbing for me at the moment. Let me try and recap some of my thoughts from the past episodes, they may not be in order, so hopefully you can follow me.

THOUGHTS!
  1. Rule # Whatever... DON'T GIVE UP THE IMMUNITY NECKLACE IDIOT! Enough said.
  2. Rule # Whatever... PLAY THE STUPID IMMUNITY IDOL IDIOTS!!! Enough said.
  3. I am still amazed to this day how personally people take getting voted off (Ozzy, Erik, etc... you are all stupid).
  4. Jeff should cut his hair for the finale.
  5. Unbelievable how many people got hurt.
  6. I hate Natalie... always did and always will. And by the way... what the HECK was her finale speach all about.
  7. I do like Cirie, I feel bad for her.
  8. Erik, Erik, Erik... I feel bad for the scooper, ice cream that is.
  9. How did Parvati win? I mean, don't get me wrong... I'm happy she won, but I don't get
  10. Well guys... my battery is running out! Please check the finances section in case I missed something and if you haven't paid me, PAY!!!!!! I will all let you know about the pool when the next one starts!

Keep on Survivin'

Episode #4, #5, & #6

Well... I really have no good excuse for not keeping up with my posting except that A) I have been really busy and B) I got a nice eye infection (I don't know why that didn't allow me, but hey, it is an excuse).

Anyway... Cathy and I watched three episodes in a row last night. I gotta say it was tough to keep track of whether the challenge was an immunity or reward. But I got them all watched and will try to keep up next Wednesday! Remember it isn't Thursday next week because of the NCAA Tournament.

So here are some thoughts:
Episode #4 -
  1. The fans were really, really disorganized and in utter turmoil.
  2. Ozzy is an all star... his strategy in the reward challenge was brilliant. No need for bad swimmers and girls to have to do all that work.
  3. James was really excited about solving the puzzle... "If I can get the freakin' puzzle!"
  4. Ozzy is just the man finding the immunity idol... Could he of fashioned a better fake?
  5. The fans turmoil showed itself in the immunity challenge.
  6. I think Joel was correct in voting out Mikey B. It wasn't going to work with both of them. Tracy is turning out to be a kniving little player.

Episode #5

  1. I liked the mixing up of tribes early, I thought it would stop the original teams, but it didn't.
  2. That was the most brutal challenge I think I've seen in a while. How about Joel dragging Chet along... Jonathon really hurt himself too. That was a nasty cut.
  3. I wonder if the Airai tribe got to eat those steaks after the tide washed out their fire!
  4. Man, were there some people who couldn't throw stones in the immunity challenge. I think Jonathon was right in complaining, they had some bad luck with how those tiles fell. Luckily the other tribe couldn't put together a puzzle.
  5. I liked how Ozzy blindsided Joel, he was just too brazen in the way he played.

Episode #6

  1. The reward challenge was interesting, I wonder what kind of blockades they could have come up with some time to plan.
  2. I felt really bad for Jonathon (not his owners)... he was on his way to the end. His leg didn't look good though. Kathy did, though, bug me with her crying after only 3 days.
  3. Those two natives were pretty cool. Did Parvati ask Joe if he was married?
  4. I sure hope Jason plays that fake immunity idol.
  5. James is amazing, I don't think he even needed those other girls to carry the pole.
  6. Tracy and Ami had their chance with Chet to get out Ozzy, he better watch out... Chet is a whimp.

Well... may be after next week I'll have my top 5 list. If you haven't paid, do so soon please.

Episode #3

Here are some thoughts from Episode #3:

  1. There is some real discontent on the Fans team.
  2. So who else wanted to see James v. Joel!
  3. There were some pretty sweet war paint out there. Alexis took some nice hits in that reward challenge. I wonder how long that really took.
  4. Those two chicks, Parvati and Amanda, are using those two guys. I wonder how this is all going to turn out.
  5. Kathy is from Wisconsin? First we get a man named Sue in the first one and now her!
  6. Why is Parvati on the holder side of that immunity challenge? That seemed really dumb.
  7. I think that Cirie being the center of attention is going to come back and bite her…

Episode #2

Well fans, I'm watching a little late tonight as I took a field trip with Liam and Owen to the fish store to get some fish for my tank at school. Thanks Sue for that dirty sespool you left, but now it is nice and pretty.

Now, for some random thoughts:
  1. I still can't believe that Jonny Fairplay is gone. I want to know if he really meant to get voted off.
  2. Boy, the fans are really, really, disorganized.
  3. Kathy broke a rule... NO CRYING!
  4. The favorites are at Club Med I think.
  5. Are those clams that they are poppin' open are endangered?
  6. The flirting really has to stop.
  7. I like Jonathan. I think he is a good player.
  8. I played a little Steve Matthew's "Jungle Love" after the Ozzy and Amanda show. Wuf, you wouldn't want to stay overnight at their house.
  9. I sure like the crystal blue water of the South Pacific over the muddy river water of China.
  10. There was still a lot of blurring on that challenge.
  11. Erik looks like the dude from the "Blue Lagoon", where is Brooke Shields? OR is he the lost Bee Gee?
  12. I really want to know if I could make it over those lily pads?
  13. Good bye Chet!
  14. Aren't there dangerous things lurking in the ocean as they trudge from island to island to island to island.
  15. Mikey B.'s scenario was like the you know that I know that you know that I know that you know that I know... kinda like the Princess Bride.
  16. Mikey B. is breaking rule #1... too much of a loud mouth.
  17. I think I heard one of the dumbest comments ever, "It'll be interesting to check out tribal council tonight"... duh, have you ever watched the game.
  18. I thought it was a little early for Joel to make a "power play"... let Mikey ride it out and then backdoor him.

Oh well... not a bad episode, should be a good one.

Rules of Survivor

So I have gone back and researched my previous posts to come up with what we shall now know as the 5 (really 7) commandments or rules of playing Survivor. When I get on the show I will use these to win.

Rule #1 - Keep your mouth shut. Let the loudmouth talk themselves out of the game.
Rule #2 - Don't drink ALCOHOL (especially in finitum).
Rule #2b - Don't cry, especially if you are a guy.
Rule #3 - No Racial Comments.
Rule #4 - No ROMANCE!
Rule #5 - Do not give your alliance a nickname.
Rule #5b - Especially don't give your alliance the nickname "The Four Horseman".

You break those and you lose.

Episode #1

Here we go Survivor fans... I'm PUMPED! I hope you watched, because its gonna be a good one. Time for some random thoughts now...

  1. I gotta say I kinda like the Fans v. Faves.
  2. Thanks goodness they gave them swimming suits this year!
  3. So I get Gervis being a YMCA basketball coach, or __________ being a cheerleading coach, but how do you become an Ice Cream Scooper (Erik)?
  4. Joel is a big dude.
  5. Nice swimsuit Parvati!!!
  6. Did they play Chariots of Fire as Yau-Man came out?
  7. Lets all run across a pool of water in a lightning storm!
  8. Nice tackly Yau-Man, way to smash Johnny Fairplay's head into the side of the boat.
  9. Why do you start talking about another guy being gay... or about someone's implants... she is on her way out!
  10. What kind of hat is that Jonathan.
  11. I do have to agree with James, they have a better work ethic.
  12. James and Parvati, sittin' a tree, ....
  13. Is James bigger than last season?
  14. Holy cow... Kathy was cryin' on day 1... what is she gonna do when she hasn't had food for a couple days.
  15. Remember Survivor Rule #1 - Romance is Baaad.
  16. Did Yau-Man start a fire from his glasses? When I go on Survivor I'm wearing glasses no matter what.
  17. I want to see Joel go mono y mono with James.
  18. Joel kinda looks like Lou Ferrigno.
  19. Eliza just DURFFED it on that cart!
  20. I gotta say, I don't like the Fans as much.
  21. Johnny Fairplay is gonna get burned... He needed to lay low for a bit. AND he cost me $34.
  22. That acting job was baaaad.
  23. If it's your second time playing Survivor, why do you wear a dress?
  24. Wow, was that for real? Did he really mean to get voted off? I'm confused.
  25. That was anti-climactic at the end. Congrats to Ann Maria W. for her $34 win.
